Three things that make you dual eligible

You are likely eligible for a dual plan if all three of these are true. If you are not sure about one of them, a quick phone call can confirm it for you.

1. You have Medicare

You are 65 or older, or you qualified for Medicare earlier because of a disability. Most dual plans expect you to have both Part A and Part B.

2. You have Medicaid or a limited income

You also get help from your state Medicaid program, or your monthly income and savings are limited. There are different levels of Medicaid help, and some people qualify without realizing it, so it is worth checking.

3. A dual plan is offered where you live

Dual plans are approved county by county. A licensed agent can look up which plans serve your area and what each one includes.

Not sure if you have Medicaid?

Many people qualify for Medicaid help and do not know it, especially those on a fixed income. A licensed agent can help you check at no cost. If you do not have Medicaid yet, they can point you toward how to apply in your state.
